AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM
NLF’s After School Program operates during the school year from 1:00 to 6:00 pm. The After School Program is an extension of the preschool programs in philosophy and goals. Japanese language and cultural activities are integrated into the programs, along with multicultural studies. The students are provided with homework assistance and tutoring, and extracurricular activities such as science/math, creative arts, language arts, community awareness, cooking, computers, music and movement, and outdoor games.
A nutritious afternoon snack is also provided to the students as well as periodic fieldtrips to the library, parks, and educational venues.
NLF Preschool Programs provide childcare services for children aged 2 1/2 to 5 years old. We provide a flexible schedule designed to accommodate the needs of families (full-day, half-day or three days per week).
We currently have two preschool-aged programs, the Bush Preschool site and Sutter Preschool site. When children graduate from our preschool programs, they are well prepared to meet the challenges of primary school education.
Subsidized childcare is available to accommodate families of low to moderate income as well as private fee services.
